If you receive a letter from the “England Commercial Register” such as the one below, please ignore it: it’s a scam. Several clients have received these in the past couple of weeks.
The recipient is encouraged to complete some company details and then post it in an envelope (included with the letter) which is addressed to a location abroad. According to Goopla, once the perpetrators have received a signed letter from a business, they send that business a bill for advertising on their websites.
The scam seems to be targeting companies, sole traders and partnerships. There’s a similar one doing the rounds for the “Scottish Commercial Register”.
